I used to love my lattes that I would get from Krema (in 2019-2020). I have noticed a sharp decline in quality and preparation, but it’s still a go to place when I’m in the Plainfield area. Today I convinced my daughter to come with me to get a drink, she only drinks matcha and is VERY particular about where she gets it. She was very resistant to trying a matcha latte at Krema and it was absolutely horrible! No time or care was put into that matcha latte! A thick layer of dark green was at the bottom. My daughter tried to salvage it when we got home because she felt bad tossing it since I spent so much on it. Unsalvageable! I told her to toss it and don’t feel bad, lesson learned. I’m sure Krema is more coffee customers than matcha drinkers but it might be good to at least learn the proper way to prepare matcha, might gain more customers.

The food I received was unacceptable. I ordered toast with chocolate and marshmallows, but what I was served looked like someone else’s leftovers rather than a freshly made item. The bread was cut into random pieces, the presentation was messy, and it honestly looked like it had already been eaten. What made the experience even worse was the way the situation was handled. The person preparing the food was extremely rude, had a lot of attitude, and made me feel so uncomfortable that I honestly wanted to leave. There was no apology, and no one offered to remake my order. Instead, I had to ask twice before they finally agreed to prepare a fresh one. A customer shouldn’t have to beg to receive the food they paid for. Good customer service starts with treating customers with respect and taking responsibility when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, this place failed on both the quality of the food and the way customers are treated. I left feeling disappointed and unwelcome, and I won’t be returning.

Such a beautiful place to grab a cup of coffee and chat the morning away. This place is an art gallery full of beautiful art. The staff are kind and make your drink quickly. You've got to take a break in life, and this place is a place to do it at.

★★★★★ Stopped by Krema Coffee and ordered their iced spicy chai—wow. The flavor was spot on, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice that made every sip refreshing and a little bold at the same time. You can tell it’s made with quality ingredients and real attention to detail. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was super friendly, which made the whole visit even better. If you’re looking for something different from the usual coffee order, the iced spicy chai is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back for another!

I absolutely love every Krema Coffee House. The coffee/tea is consistently excellent, the food is fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere makes it such a welcoming place to spend time. It’s one of those rare cafés where you can actually relax, meet friends, or get some work done without feeling rushed. The staff are always friendly and clearly care about what they’re doing, which really shows in the quality of everything they serve. My only small wish is that they used fewer cardboard cups and boxes, especially for customers who are eating and drinking in the café. With such a lovely space, it would feel even nicer (and more environmentally friendly) to have real mugs and plates whenever possible. That said, it’s still a fantastic place and one of my favorite coffee spots in town.
